  • Fine Jewelry & Watch auction on September 12, 2019 at 1PM EDT.
  • Featured Lots Shown: Oscar Heyman Diamond and Ruby Orchid Brooch (Lot 1115), A 6.20ct Oval-Shaped Brownish, Yellowish, Orange Diamond Ring (Lot 1046), Cartier Diamond-Paved Love Bracelet (Lot 1019), Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger Citrine and Diamond Bird on a Rock Brooch (Lot 1101), Cartier Large Opal and Amethyst Ring (Lot 1012).

NEW YORK, NY—The September Exchange auction will take place Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 1PM EDT, offering collectors a broad array of fine jewelry and iconic watches from the celebrated makers of the world.

The Exchange collection is led by a gorgeous Oscar Heyman Diamond and Ruby Orchid Brooch (Lot 1115), offered for an estimate of $8,000–$12,000. The stunning craftsmanship can be seen down to every detail—from every single gemstone setting to the metal smithing. It is a wonderful example of jewelry that bolsters Oscar Heyman’s reputation as the “jeweler’s jeweler.” The lot achieved $47,500 at auction, far surpassing its pre-auction estimate.

In other designer highlights, a Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger Citrine and Diamond Bird on a Rock Brooch (Lot 1101) will also be offered in September. The “Bird on a Rock” design was most famously used for its mounting of the “Tiffany Diamond,” an impressive 128.54ct Fancy Yellow Diamond that has been in the firm’s collection since the 19th century, and its iconic Schlumberger design is emblematic of the French designer’s love of animal motifs and whimsical design. This stunning piece sold for $21,250 at auction.

Introducing the Fortuna Exchange

In 2019, Fortuna introduced a new auction offering called the Fortuna Exchange, a monthly sale series featuring fine jewelry and watches from the celebrated makers across all style periods. The Fortuna Exchange was created to provide our sellers greater opportunities per year to sell their assets on a global platform, without the constraints or limitations of consigning their pieces to seasonal sales that are few and far between. With the addition of the monthly Fortuna Exchange sales, alongside our larger signature sales that occur biannually, we are pleased to offer our clients a year that is abundant with rare and exciting fine jewelry and watch offerings.

If you are interested in consigning to the Fortuna Exchange, please note that your jewelry or watch must be submitted at least a month before the date of the sale. For more information on selling at auction, click here.

We Invite You to Auction!

We are always accepting fine jewelry and watch consignments for upcoming auctions, whether it is a single item or an entire collection. The next opportunity to consign is for the October Exchange, which will take place October 17th. The cutoff date to submit your fine jewelry or watches is September 4. Please contact our office or fill out our web form for a complimentary auction appraisal. Our specialists look forward to helping you understand the value of your pieces.
