- Featured Lots Shown: Citrine Amethyst and Diamond Necklace achieved $5,000 at auction
NEW YORK, NY—The June Jewels auction took place Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 3PM EDT, offering an exciting array of important diamonds and estate and designer pieces. As the weather changes so do the accessories, and Fortuna is thrilled to show you some of our favorite summer finds!
The Cartier Love bracelet was designed in 1969 by Aldo Cipullo for the iconic French jewelry maison. The design was meant to symbolize the permanence of love by the act of being ‘locked into love’ with the use of the iconic small screwdriver. The Love Bracelet has been one of the most recognized jewelry designs in the world ever since. This fun twist on the classic piece, the Cartier Multi-Colored Gemstone Love Bracelet achieved $6,500 at auction.
Animal print fashion web searches have more than tripled in recent weeks, according to Lyst Insights, spurred by the popularity of the Netflix hit Tiger King and encouraged by the desire to be wild and free after quarantine, it seems the trend is here to stay. The winning bidder of this Tiffany & Co. Zebra Bangle wanted to nail the trend in style. The piece achieved $5,000 at auction and is crafted in 18K gold and set with mother of pearl and onyx inlay. This delicate yet bold accessory looks great with your classic black and white look and makes an even bolder statement with those summer colors.
The rise in popularity of yellow diamonds, or canary diamonds as they’re fondly known, is even more prevalent in the summer months. Who could resist a Vivid Yellow diamond against the backdrop of the glowing sun and ice-cold lemonade to match? Cetainly not our bidders. After a starting bid of $6,500, this lovely 1.24-Carat Rectangular-Cut Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond Ring achieved more than double its starting bid with a well deserved $13,750.
Graff diamonds are some of the most desired–and expensive– in the world, and it’s no wonder. The jeweler selects only the best diamonds from deep in the mines of South Africa and Botswana, and each is laser engraved with a traceable code from GIA. This Graff 2.31-Carat Emerald-Cut Diamond Ring with E color and VVS2 clarity is enhanced with round brilliant-cut diamonds around the platinum band weighing a total of approximately 0.30 carats. The beautiful piece achieved $32,500 at auction
If you’re yearning for the sound of ocean waves and the sounds of seagulls, then you’ll surely love our bold summer coral finds. This Coral Diamond and Enamel Ring is crafted in 18K gold and set with an oval cabochon coral, accented with round brilliant-cut diamonds, weighing a total of approximately 1.00 carat, most with H-I color and SI clarity. The vibrant color of the coral will pop against the sun-kissed skin we’re all craving so it’s no surprise this piece achieved $2,500 at auction, more than its high estimate.
David Webb is the king of whimsy with his distinctive enamel carved designs with geometric and natural motifs. These David Webb Black Enamel and Diamond Earclips resulted in quite the exciting bidding war, resulting in a final achieved price of $9,375–more than double the starting bid! The chic ear clips are crafted in 18K gold and platinum and set with round brilliant-cut diamonds, weighing a total of approximately 0.55 carat, most with F-G color and VS clarity. The diamonds and gold are set in fluid lines resembling that of a shell and the gold polka dots offer a chic. fun, and carefree summer look.
