- Fine Jewelry & Watch auction on June 27, 2019 at 1PM EDT.
- Featured Lots Shown: Art Nouveau Rene Lalique Emerald Pin, a Buccellati Sapphire and Diamond Ring, and a Patek Philippe Twenty~4 Ladies Diamond Watch in Steel.
NEW YORK, NY—The June Exchange auction will take place Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 1PM EDT, bringing a broad selection of fine jewelry and timepieces to the market.
The Exchange collection is led by a finely crafted Art Nouveau René Lalique Emerald Pin. Lalique was a celebrated French jeweler of the early 20th Century who is well known for his monumental contributions to the Art Nouveau movement. His experimentation with unconventional materials, such as rock crystal and architectural glass, and sparing use of precious gems, defined his unmistakable style and greatly propelled his reputation as an artist. This lovely example of his work will be offered for an estimated $16,000-$26,000.
Another highlight in signed jewelry is a Buccellati Sapphire and Diamond Ring, crafted in a platinum mounting featuring an oval-cut sapphire weighing approximately 3.20 carats, accented by 8 round brilliant-cut diamonds weighing a total of 1.20 carats. It will be offered at an attractive starting bid of $5,000, with an estimate of $8,000-$12,000.
The sale also features an abundance of gorgeous jewels spanning across all stylistic eras that is sure to excite any lover of jewelry—from contemporary Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra earclips and Cartier Love jewelry to antique, Art Deco brooches and bracelets.
In watches, a Patek Philippe Twenty~4 Ladies Diamond Watch in Steel will be offered for an estimated $5,500-$8,000. It is a classic design that cemented Patek Philippe’s reputation in the ladies fine watches market. The present lot is in pristine condition and comes accompanied by a Patek Philippe box and original papers.
The auction catalog is now online and available for pre-auction bidding. For inquiries related to the sale, please refer to the contact information above and our specialists would be more than happy to assist you.
Introducing the Fortuna Exchange
In 2019, Fortuna introduced a new auction offering called the Fortuna Exchange, a monthly sale series featuring fine jewelry and watches from the celebrated makers across all style periods. The Fortuna Exchange was created to provide our sellers greater opportunities per year to sell their assets on a global platform, without the constraints or limitations of consigning their pieces to seasonal sales that are few and far between. With the addition of the monthly Fortuna Exchange sales, alongside our larger signature sales that occur biannually, we are pleased to offer our clients a year that is abundant with rare and exciting fine jewelry and watch offerings.
If you are interested in consigning to the Fortuna Exchange, please note that your jewelry or watch must be submitted at least a month before the date of the sale. For more information on selling at auction, click here.
