NEW YORK, NY—Fortuna’s No-Reserve Watches auction took place Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 6:30PM EDT, offering an exciting, wide-ranging collection of luxury timepieces, all at no-reserve.

The auction was led by a virtually untouched Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 6006G in 18K White Gold, offered for an estimate of $9,000–$18,000. Fitted in a black leather strap with a Patek Philippe deployment buckle, and accompanied with box, papers, manual, push pin and tag, the timepiece achieved $23,750.

Also featured in the sale is an A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange Ref. 232.021 in 18K Gold, with an estimate of $8,000–$16,000. Launched in 2006, the Richard Lange family of watches has dedicated its focus to the precision and accuracy of timekeeping. The slender Roman numerals on the dial pays homage to the scientific observation watches that were typical during Richard Lange’s time. The watch sold for $16,250 at auction.

The sale offered perfect every-day watches by iconic brands such as Omega, Rolex, Panerai, Breitling, IWC and more—well suited for watch enthusiasts and passionate collectors alike. To be notified of similar auctions or lot offerings, please subscribe to our Watch Newsletter here.

Introducing the Fortuna Exchange

In 2019, Fortuna introduced a new auction offering called the Fortuna Exchange, a monthly sale series featuring fine jewelry and watches from the celebrated makers across all style periods. The Fortuna Exchange was created to provide our sellers greater opportunities per year to sell their assets on a global platform, without the constraints or limitations of consigning their pieces to seasonal sales that are few and far between. With the addition of the monthly Fortuna Exchange sales, alongside our larger signature sales that occur biannually, we are pleased to offer our clients a year that is abundant with rare and exciting fine jewelry and watch offerings.

If you are interested in consigning to the Fortuna Exchange, please note that your jewelry or watch must be submitted at least a month before the date of the sale. For more information on selling at auction, click here.

We Invite You to Auction!

We are always accepting fine jewelry and watch consignments for upcoming auctions, whether it is a single item or an entire collection. The next opportunity to consign is for the August Exchange, which will take place August 15th. The cutoff date to submit your fine jewelry or watches is July 16. Please contact our office or fill out our web form for a complimentary auction appraisal. Our specialists look forward to helping you understand the value of your pieces.
