  • Fine jewelry and watch auction on February 6, 2020 at 1PM EST.
  • Featured Lot Shown: A Very Fine Ruby and Diamond Ring

NEW YORK, NY—The Fine Jewels auction took place Thursday, February 6, 2020 and offered a well-rounded selection of fine estate diamond jewelry, designer pieces. The Sale was the first of Fortuna’s sales to be streamed live on Facebook.

Among the auction highlights sold was a lovely 5.16-Carat Very Fine Ruby and Diamond Ring, the property of a Florida lady. This gorgeous ruby exhibits a deep, rich color and is perfectly accented by a halo of round brilliant-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 2.00 carats. This spectacular piece achieved more than double its starting bid at auction, with an impressive $25,000.

In other spectacular stones, the Fine Jewels auction also offered a 4.13-Carat Emerald-Cut Loose Diamond that begs to be reborn as an elegant engagement ring. This fine diamond comes accompanied by a GIA diamond report that states the stone as possessing G color and VVS1 clarity, and achieved $40,625 at auction.

Other featured designs in the sale included a Tiffany & Co. Aquamarine Morganite and Diamond Drop Necklace. This piece is crafted in platinum, in a beautiful cascading design and achieved $30,000, which was double its starting bid.

We’re always thrilled when a piece achieves more than the original high estimate at auction. During the week of previews, potential bidders eyed the gorgeous Vintage Multi-Colored Sapphire Bracelet, with great interest. The bracelet is crafted in 14K gold and set with multi-colored sapphires weighing approximately 9.20 x 7.40 x 4.40 mm. The unique accessory achieved $6,250 at auction, more than double its starting bid and higher than its high estimate of $5,000.
