NEW YORK, NY—The Important Jewels auction took place Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 12PM EST, offering a curated selection of important estate jewelry and rare signed pieces.
The Important Jewels collection was led by a spectacular pair of Harry Winston Diamond Earrings, which achieved $287,500 at auction. These exquisite vintage jewels from 1957 feature pear-shaped and marquise diamonds set with minimal metal. The stunning colorless diamonds boast VS2 to VVS1 clarity, and comes accompanied by a Harry Winston Box, Harry Winston letter, and a GIA report confirming its characteristics. The diamonds are angled toward one another in an unmistakable Harry Winston design. The famous American jeweler was known as the King of Diamonds, and these dazzling earrings are a true testament to his legacy.
But the piece that commanded the most bidder attention online, over the phones and on the bidding floor was a gorgeous Tiffany & Co. Art Deco Diamond and Emerald Bracelet. Property of an Arkansas lady, this masterfully crafted piece features French-cut diamonds, weighing a total of approximately 22.50 carats, and enhanced by caliber-cut emeralds. It achieved $68,750 at auction, surpassing its estimate of $35,000–$50,000.
The sale also featured other designer names, including a Buccellati Diamond Wide Cuff, which achieved $30,000 at auction, and a Tiffany & Co. 2.26-carat Emerald-Cut Diamond Ring, which sold for $13,750.
